Head of State mets Sarah Zeid, Princess of Jordan
The President of the Republic His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye received, on Tuesday at the Presidential Palace Kwa Ntare Rushatsi, Her Royal Highness Sarah Zeid Ra’ad, the Princess of Jordan, a global activist and special advisor of the World Food Program for the health and nutrition of mothers and newborns.
“We did a good job with your predecessors in the school canteen program and we would like this program to be extended throughout the country to support education for all,” said Head of State Ndayishimiye while emphasizing that strategies are taken to support agricultural development initiatives, the irrigation program, among others.
Her Royal Highness Sarah Zeid Ra’ad, on her part, positively appreciated the efforts made in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. She also expressed her wish for the establishment of nutritional education centers in order to support and promote a good health for children and their mothers.
Arrived in Burundi on October 14, Her Royal Highness Sarah Zeid Ra’ad had the opportunity to visit some development projects in Ngozi, Kirundo, Bujumbura and Ruyigi provinces along with Her Excellency Burundi First Lady, Angeline Ndayishimiye.
