Head of State concluded his five day state visit in Equatorial Guinea

The President of the Republic of Burundi HE Evariste Ndayishimiye has just concluded his state visit, which began on November 2, 2020, to Equatorial Guinea, along with the First Lady.


The State visit was carried out at the invitation of HE Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.


Five Ministers were members of his delegation namely Amb. Albert Shingiro, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Development Cooperation, Ir Alain Tribert Mutabazi, Minister of National Defense and Veterans Affairs, Dr Thaddée Ndikumana, Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, Ir Déo-Guide Rurema, Minister of Environment, Agriculture and Energy and Hon. Immaculate Ndabaneze, Minister of Trade, Transport, Industry and Tourism.


According to the joint press release concluding the state visit, the visit made by Burundi Head of State “is part of the excellent relations of friendship, fraternity and cooperation that exist between the two countries and strengthened every day by the will and commitment expressed by the two Heads of State “.


During his stay in Equatorial Guinea, the President of the Republic of Burundi met on several occasions with his counterpart of Equatorial Guinea in a climate of fraternity and mutual understanding, which made it possible to review the current state of cooperation between the two countries, as well as an in-depth examination of ways and means to diversify it into sectors of common interest for the benefit of the two respective Peoples.


Six cooperation agreements were thus signed between the two countries and the two parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in a spirit of commitment of the two countries to make the implementation of the agreements concluded more visible and more effective.

Finally, Burundi President thanked his Equatorial Guinean counterpart for the warm welcome and invited him to visit Burundi on a date to be agreed through diplomatic channels.
