Resuming the Project of extending Bujumbura Port, the main item on the agenda of the meeting between the Head of State and the Japanese Ambassador
The Head of State, His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye, received in audience this Thursday, May 6, 2021, Mr. Masahiro IMAI, Ambassador of Japan to Burundi with residence in Kigali, Rwanda.
At the end of the meeting, the Japanese Ambassador revealed that they discussed the restart of the Bujumbura Port Extension Project, funded by Japan, which had stopped because of the COVID-19 pandemic. .
During their discussions, they also tackled the cooperation relations between Burundi and Japan in the sectors of agriculture, infrastructure and energy.
The two high personalities expressed the wish to see these relations strengthened in order to promote the economic development of the country.
The meeting ended with an exchange of gifts.
