The Head of State wants the Catholic Church to be the pillar of a sustainable development
During the celebration of the epiphany feast, in Budatyora parish, of Itaba commune, in the province of Gitega, Burundi Head of State who was accompanied with the First Lady, Angeline Mdayishimiye, has expressed his wish to see the Catholic Church becoming “ Amayugi y’iterambere” the pillar of a sustainable development.
President Ndayishimiye thanked the Catholic Church for its significant contribution to the development of the country. He stated that ” Burundi government is ready to engage with different parishes in development works”.
As 2021 is the year dedicated to a sustainable development, HE Evariste Ndayishimiye took this opportunity to urge Burundian people to get down to development works and love one another.
During this Mass, it was revealed that Epiphany is a feast day that celebrates the revelation of God. The gospel according to Matthew 2: 1-12 speaks of the wise men, guided by the star, who came from the East to worship the Lord, the Messiah who was born to save mankind.
The President of the Republic presented to the parishioners of Budatyora in particular and to all Christians in general, his best wishes for happiness and prosperity for the new year 2021.
