Christmas celebration: The Head of State calls on Burundians to strengthen love and unity
The President of the Republic, His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye and his family joined the christians of the “Christ Roi” Cathedral of Mushasha, in the province of Gitega, for the mass marking the feast of Christmas, which is celebrated each year on December 25.
In his greeting message, His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye indicated that the Christmas celebration for this year is special because it happens at a time when peace and security is a reality throughout the national territory.
The Head of State expressed the wish to see the nativity of Jesus Christ become an opportunity for the Burundians to further consolidate the achievements in terms of peace and unity, because these values are already embodied in the hearts of Burundians, he indicated.
He also informed that the country’s leaders are made up of sons and daughters of the country characterized by love for others and unity, to be able to carry out the task entrusted to them to properly serve all Burundians.
His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye also thanked Bishop Simon Ntamwana, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Gitega, for his incessant appeals to the Burundians for love and unity.
The President of the Republic closed his speech by once again wishing a Merry Christmas to all Burundians wherever they are.
