The Head of State, His Excellency Evariste Ndayishimiye has just granted presidential pardon to 4 journalists from the Iwacu Journal who were held in Bubanza Central Prison.

By Decree No 120 of December 23, 2020 on the Presidential Measure of Grace, Agnès Ndirubusa, Christine Kamikazi, Egide Harerimana, and Térence Mpozenzi were released after having addressed a request for a measure of grace to His Excellency the President of the Republic.

These journalists have just received the presidential pardon, also following their irreproachable behavior shown during their stay in prison. Note that they also paid the fines at their expense.

Recall that these journalists were arrested on October 22, 2019 in Bubanza and were accused of endangering state security.
