First Lady meets Gitaramuka Saint Augustino Secondary School students in Karusi Province
Her Excellency Angeline Ndayishimiye, First Lady of Burundi Republic, held a working session, this Thursday, December 3, with the students of Gitaramuka Saint Augustino Secondary located in Gitaramuka Commune, Karusi Province. The purpose of the meeting was to sensitize these students about wisdom, leadership, reproductive health, the fight against AIDS and cervical cancer.
In her speech, Her Excellency Angeline Ndayishimiye invited the students of the Saint Augustino Secondary School to adopt a responsible behavior and set goals to prepare for a better future. She advised these young people to always seek advice from parents and their elders, whenever a decision needs to be made or when they are in confusion or uncertainty.
The First Lady of Burundi provided several other tips to these children which will be useful to them to achieve a bright future. She invited them to dissociate themselves from bad behaviors which could completely ruin their life, like the sexual vagrancy and the taking of drugs, behaviors which are at the root of the sexually transmitted diseases like the AIDS and others.
Her Excellency Angeline Ndayishimiye recommended the Saint Augustino Secondary School students to devote their free time to church activities by being part of choirs and Christian movements and associations.
The First Lady of Burundi granted assistance to this school made of hundred mattresses, a laptop, a printer, sports equipment, rice and beans.
Saint Augustino Secondary School is a mixed school, with a boarding system, under Catholic convention, within the Muyinga diocese.
