The Presidential Family takes part in Sunday Mass at Gasura Parish
The President of the Republic, HE Major General Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE, accompanied by the First Lady, Her Excellency Angeline NDAYISHIMIYE and their children, joined the Christians of the Saints Martyrs of Uganda parish of Gasura, Mbuye Commune of Muramvya Province, for the Eucharistic celebration of this Sunday, November 22, 2020.
The Gasura Parish Priest, a parish which is one of the parishes of Bujumbura Archdiocese, his homely was based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew, chapter 25, 31-46, in the passage which speaks of the last time when “… the Son of Man will come in his glory, with all the angels he will sit on the throne of his glory. All the nations will be gathered before him. He will separate one from another. , as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats… ”
As Catholic Christians today celebrated the feast of Christ the King, he invited them to enthrone Christ into their souls and consciences, to be true servants of the Lord, so that they could inherit the kingdom of God.
He also asked them to pray for the leaders of the country, that they would be good servants of God’s people.
In his adress, the Head of State His Excellency Evariste NDAYISHIMIYE gave thanks to the Almighty who still protects the country.
He urged Christians of Gasura Parish in particular and all Burundians in general to draw closer to God and persevere in prayer, while going about self-development activities, so that every mouth has food and that every pocket can have money.
At the time when the Christians of the Gasura parish are building another church , the Head of State lent them a helping hand by granting them 200 bags of cement. The Presidential family and the one of Nzobonariba Philippe, a native of this parish, are also committed to helping in the construction of the Altar of this church.
