President Evariste Ndayishimiye arrived in Malabo on November 2 for a 5-day state visit
At the invitation of HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Burundi Head of State, HE Evariste Ndayishimiye is paying a 5 day state visit to Equatorial Guinea. He arrived in Malabo, Capital of Equatorial Guinea, on Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. Malabo time.
Upon his arrival at Malabo International Airport, he was welcomed by HE Teodore Nguema Obiang Mangue, Vice-President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in charge of Defense and State Security.
Besides the First Lady HE Angéline Ndayubaha Ndayishimiye, President Ndayishimiye is accompanied by 5 Burundian Ministers namely Amb. Albert Shingiro, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation to Development, Ir Alain Tribert Mutabazi, Minister of National Defense and Veterans Affairs, Dr Thaddée Ndikumana, Minister of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, Ir Déo-Guide Rurema, Minister of Environment, Agriculture and Energy and Hon. Immaculate Ndabaneze, Minister of Trade, Transport, Industry and Tourism.
He is equally accompanied with Amb. Zéphyrin Maniratanga, Head of State Protocol and his deputy Col. Jules Ndihokubwayo, Mr. Claude Karerwa Ndenzako, Spokesman of the President and Amb. Willy Nyamitwe, Head of the Information and Communications Office at the Presidency of the Republic.
The first day of the visit was marked by bilateral meetings, first at the ministerial level at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, then at the Presidential level at the People’s Palace for a tête-à-tête of the two Heads of State followed by a high-level meeting between the two Heads of State and their respective delegations, a meeting concluded with the signing of five cooperation accords.
At the end of the day, a State Banquet was offered by HE Obiang Nguema Mbasogo to his counterpart Evariste Ndayishimiye, followed by speeches.
